The Olive Theory

The other day someone was asking me to explain in one sentence why I love Bradley. About a million reasons popped into my head but that would have required more than one sentence to explain. So I chose the sentence that I thought best described him using the fewest amount of words.
"He really is my other half"
As cheesy as that is, it really is true. From this sentence we found the Olive Theory. Another way of saying "opposites attract"
There really are so many things in life that I don't like and he does and that creates the perfect balance between us as a couple.
***
I hate driving and he loves it
I love pickles and he hates them
He likes to wake up early and I love to nap
I hate math and he likes it more than I do
I hate spiders and he enjoys killing them
He likes to fix things, and I don't necessarily like to break things, but I always end up breaking stuff
He likes to go to work and make money, I like to go to the mall and spend money
He's always warm and I'm always cold, so he warms me up and I cool him down
He's very patient and understanding, I'm not so much
I'm a planner and he's very spontaneous

There are probably a hundred or more examples I could list off, but I won't. I am just grateful for Bradley and I'm grateful that he likes things that I don't, so I don't have to kill spiders. I'm grateful that I like things that he doesn't so I can have 2 pickles instead of 1. And I'm grateful that we like doing the same activities so that I never have to go to the gym by myself ever again! It's so amazing to take a step back and look at your life and realize that you've found who you're supposed to be with because that person fills in all the gaps that you were missing all your life.

Love you babe!

Back to school...

The time has finally come, school has started and that means summer is officially over. Bradley started the fall semester at the U today, he worked all day and then endured 2 dreaded hours of pre calc. What a champ! I am so so glad that I picked a career that thankfully doesn't require me to take that wretched class. But he can handle it so it's a good thing he's taking it and not me. I don't start school until Friday so I have a few more days of summer, although with everyone else starting school today, it sure doesn't feel like summer anymore. While I am sad beyond words that our wonderful summer has come to an end, I am so excited for the upcoming season. I love love love the fall weather. The leaves changing colors. The cool crisp mornings and the smell it brings. The first day of school. The yucky spiders that go away, or freeze to death. There is just something so perfect about Autumn and I love it! I love Halloween and I can't wait to put up all our decorations. I can't wait to make pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. I am excited to go to a pumpkin patch and pick the best pumpkin of the bunch and carve it. I'm excited to watch all the trick or treaters and see their creative costumes. I'm excited to go to the fair. There are just so many exciting things in the fall. I'm grateful for the seasons and the changes they bring. I have had an amazing summer with Bradley, here is a list of my favorite activities of summer 2010, just to name a few.
*all the amazing trips
*sleeping downtown with the girls
*Tim McGraw
*lava lava luau
*raging waters
*the bees game
*motorcycle rides
*sugar house park
*sleepovers with friends
*the many many weddings we've attended this summer
*the aquarium
*bbq's
and so much more!

We ended the summer the right way...at a bees game of course! They lost, but it was still so fun.

This giant pile is all mine...for just one semester. Nursing school may be the death of me.

Isn't he handsome!?! And boy does he look good in this tux!! So glad we finally found the perfect one.

Lasagna is one of Bradley's favorite meals, so I figured if I want to be a good wife, I better learn how to make his favorite meal. My sister spent a whole day teaching me how to make this noodly goodness. The finished product turned out better than expected. I even surprised myself. Thanks Melinda :)

LAVA LAVA LUAU!

Brad and his friends had this really awesome idea to throw an end of summer party, but they didn't want it to be like any other party, they wanted it to be HUGE and guess what...it was HUGE!
The boys had been planning this party for months. They were talking about inviting 200 people and roasting pigs and having a million drinks and a ton of food and having this be the summer party to remember for 2010. I have to admit, I was a little skeptical when they said they wanted to roast 3 pigs over a fire. I don't have any idea where you would even go to find pigs, let alone know how to cook them. But these boys proved me wrong. They threw the biggest summer party of 2010. It was a night to remember complete with: Live Music. Roasted Pigs. A Pool. A belly flop contest from a 6 foot platform. All the drinks and food you can eat. A blow up boxing ring. and so much more! If you couldn't come you definitely missed out.

A busy July

Well July has come and gone...I don't even think I had time to blink, it went by so fast. It was a very fun month filled with lots of fun adventures and activities. July is my favorite month, second only to December, and probably now October. I love everything about July. The heat. The fireworks. The way it brings families together. Barbeques. Swimming. Family trips. Red White and Blue. The parades. It is just a whole month full of FUN, and we definitely made the most of our July. Here are just a few of our many wonderful adventures we enjoyed :)

Here is my sweet Bradley trying to do a two person cartwheel. No, that is not me, that is his friend Eric...a man.
They ALMOST had it :)

These are our dear friends Christine and Adam. We love hanging out with them! This double date included an introduction to geocaching from the experts Adam and Christine, dinner at bucca with little to no power. It made for an interesting meal to say the least :) a game of clue, and watching Bounty Hunter. It was a fun night and we can't wait to do it again!

We visited our special spot at the Draper Temple and did some baptisms. This temple is special to us because it's where my cute Bradley proposed :)

We also got to go to the Days of '47 Rodeo with some of my family. I love the rodeo with all my heart! I really love anything that lets me wear my boots and sing country music at the top of my lungs, and that's just what the rodeo is :) Even Brad, the boy who says he isn't country, loved the rodeo. He had the whole cowboy attire. He wore his boots, a country lookin shirt, he even made a belt buckle for this occasion. I think it's safe to say that he is officially COUNTRY!! (but don't tell him that)

Thanks Mom and Dad. We LOVED the Rodeo!

I slept downtown with some friends for the 24th of July Parade and Brad stopped by and visited me :)

TIM McGRAW!!

Brad saw some of his friends from high school there. It was an eventful reunion :)

I LOVED the concert! Tim doesn't disappoint! Thanks hon!

Here is Bradley, the nicest boy you'll ever meet. Brad has a special hidden talent. He is quite the expert on breaking into houses! No one would ever guess that by looking at him. But here he is breaking into our apartment with a credit card! I really really really wanted to look at our new house, I'd been waiting forever for the previous renter to move out so we could look around. She moved out but did it over the weekend and she wasn't going to be dropping off the keys until Monday. I decided it was impossible for me to wait that long and so Bradley broke us in so I could look at our house. I LOVE our house! It is going to be so perfect! Pictures will be up just as soon as we're finished moving in and decorating! :) Oh and you may be wondering where Bradley learned this special talent...on his MISSION! I didn't know breaking into houses was essential to spreading the word of God :)

Here are some of the crafts I've been working on for our new house! :) It's been so much fun!

This little beauty is the dress that my 3 cute neices are going to wear at the wedding. The bow on it will be purple though :) My mom and I took my sister-in-law and her two darling girls Madeline who is 6 and Isabelle who is 4, to the store and they tried this on. They looked so cute dancing around the store looking in the mirror and talking about how they are going to look just like me! It melted my heart!

WEDDING UPDATE:
Well the wedding is in 61 days! It is coming up FAST! I woke up the other day and it hit me that in 2 months I will be a married woman! So crazy! Plans are coming along pretty well I think. We picked out invitations and viewed them online! They look so cute! We picked our cake. The flowers are all picked out. I'm working on the bridesmaids necklaces and my mom is working on the bridesmaids skirts. We are FINALLY done registering YAY! We have a wedding shower in September with 2 more being planned. I have my first dress fitting on Monday the 9th. Bridals will probably be within the next 3 weeks. It's been busy and some days are more stressful than others but so far its been great! I appreciate everyone who is so willing to help with plans and run errands with me. I am especially grateful for my mom, I honestly couldn't do this without her, and I definitely wouldn't want to. Thanks mom, you're the best! xoxo
