Budgeting?

Today Brad and I were looking over our accounts and we decided that we spend way too much money on dumb little things. They don't seem like a lot at the time, but eventually they all add up and drain our bank account. So we have decided to start budgeting. Each of us gets $50 a month to spend however we want. I haven't really been buying things lately so that shouldn't be a big deal, but what I really need to cut back on is eating out. I am so busy with school and work and I'm always with my study group and none of us want to make meals, so we always end up eating out. It's really disgusting when I think about how much money I spend on rumbi, sushi, and rubios. Hopefully this helps and we can start saving more. In a few months I should have saved up enough to purchase these babies here

Hopefully if I buy these I'll be more motivated to spend my time running instead of blogging :)

A day in maternal newborn

I'm in the middle of my OB rotations for school and let me just say it is AMAZING! Last week I went to Maternal newborn and it honestly was like living a dream. It has always been my dream to work on the baby unit when I become a nurse. Whether its delivering babies, taking care of moms and babies, or nursing those sick babies in the nicu, it doesn't matter to me :) I showed up for my shift and got started right away. My preceptor and I had a patient who delivered vaginally and a patient who had a c-section. I got to remove the staples from the incision, I got to give a baby his very first bath, I helped new moms breast feed, and I held babies in the nursery. It was such a wonderful day! I wish I could work there everyday, it really doesn't even feel like work. Next week I'm on labor and delivery and I am so excited for that! This is the best part of nursing school! :)

update

Wow it feels like forever since I've posted anything on here. A lot has happened in the last 3 weeks or so. First off we had Brad's little brother leave on his mission to Kennewick Washington. He spent 3 weeks in the MTC and then was shipped out to Washington. But before he could leave Brad and his friends had to sneak into the MTC and see him one last time. So they put on their suites and old missionary tags, shaved their faces and headed down to Provo. They were actually able to spend about an hour with Dave and I think it really helped Brad. He was having a rough time with his little brother being gone. Here are some pics of the missionary and the "missionaries"

A few weeks after Dave left, Brad's sister Catharine had a little baby boy. Welcome to the world Amos Kirk McAllister. We've been waiting for you! :)

a happy little family. Isn't he so cute!

Bradley Scott had a BIRTHDAY! He is now 23 years old! :) He was a spoiled boy this year. He got breakfast in bed, he got to go to lunch with his mom, he played golf with his new golf clubs, we went to dinner at Market Street Grill, he got rock climbing gear (which he's wanted forever) and a new remote control airplane. his friends took him to see Xmen. He had a great birthday! :)

We went up the canyon awhile ago with our friends Adam and Kami. Brad and Adam are practically best friends, they even came up with names for themselves...they refer to themselves as the "BA Revolution" boys are so weird. and kami and I love hanging out, we all have a fun time together...I think this time the boys had a little bit more fun than we did. (view at your own risk)
They thought this was just the funniest thing ever.

and now we are just trying to get through this summer semester without dying. Only 15 more days until the work slows down and I can finally breathe. Brad is loving his new job as a personal banker, and is almost done with training! :) We are loving life and enjoying the time we have with each other. This weekend is the Fortuna Family Reunion up at the Homestead. We are so excited to see everyone and to finally hold baby Amos!
