highlights of today

Today has been an awesome day! :) Here are the top reasons why.
1. I only missed 2 questions on my immune system test today! Rock that! :)
2. I got to leave work early!
3. I got a raise at work! :) Best news ever!
4. Brad is making "breakfast for dinner" He seriously makes the best breakfast foods!
5. We are doing awesome at our budgeting! More money in our bank account towards our house fund, and I lost a some weight this week. A happy bonus from not eating out so much. One step closer to my goal weight :)
6. In 2 weeks from today I will officially be HALF WAY done with nursing school. And I get a whole 3 weeks off! One of which will be spent soaking up the sun in Lake Powell!

Today is a GREAT day!

Dear Dave...

On Sunday my primary lesson was "Jesus Helps the Missionaries." We learned about missionary work and I thought it would be fun for them to write letters to a missionary. I showed them a picture of our cute Elder Fortuna and they all wrote him letters. They loved doing this! They thought it was so cool to write a letter to someone they didn't know who lived far away. I'm so excited to mail them, I think they will make Dave's day to read cute letters from little 6 year olds. :)

The little boy who wrote this letter is from Washington, and he was convinced that he's met Dave before and that Dave is the one who taught him about the Gospel. It was the cutest thing!

"Dere Dave is the food good ther
I live in washington
Thaks for techin me abawt the Gospl.

"Dear Dave
I hope you have fun.
Love Romney age 7"

This little girl dotted all her I's with hearts because she told me that she wants him to know that she loves him and that she is going to marry a missionary someday! :)
"Dear Dave
Your sister misses you.
Thanks for going on a mission.
Love Sarah age 6"

4th of July!

I LOVE this holiday! I love the whole month of July actually. This year, like every year, we went to Bear Lake with my family. We had to leave early because of school (whats new?) but it was still so fun! We played out in the water, played cards, went running, went for row boat rides, watched amazing fireworks, and just spent time relaxing with the family. We are so lucky that we have such a nice cabin that we can go and visit anytime we want :) On Monday (the actual 4th) we went and watched fireworks at Sugarhouse park. We had a BBQ there, played frisbee, the boys long boarded, ate some froyo, and the fireworks were incredible! It was such a fun night!
