This was our second Valentines day together, but our first Valentines day as a married couple. Brad did not disappoint. He made the most out of the few hours we had together and even though I didn't see him until 6 pm that day, he somehow made me feel special the entire day! Brad had school at 7:30 in the morning and then work until 6:00, and I had a test that morning and then school until 5:00, so we didn't have much time for activities. I attemted to make heart shaped pancakes for breakfast sunday morning, but I went through an entire batch of batter and not one single pancake turned out like a heart. (no surprise there) so instead I stayed up late and I decorated our bathroom with cut out hearts that had reasons why I love him written on them. I thought it was pretty cute and I think it was a very nice surprise to wake up to, especially that early. I got home from school and walked into our bedroom to find 2 dozen BEAUTIFUL pink and red roses laying on our bed, with a very simple, but very perfect note. I was so surprised and flowers are my very favorite thing to get! :) Brad made reservations at Asian Star (if you haven't been there, you are definitely missing out) he tricked me into thinking we were going all these other places, and I had no idea. I LoVe chinese food, so I was very happy. My favorite part of the day was after dinner. Brad planned this whole elaborate scavenger hunt for me. I absolutely love things like this. He left me clues that took us to all the big/cute places that got us where we are now. The first clue said "It was here we found one of your new favorite shows, what really made the experience was the first time my lips touched yours" This clue was at his house, and it was where we had our first kiss. :) The next clue said, "Here at this bench overlooking the clouded skies, I asked you a question that watered your eyes. A creep was in a bush, another in a house, but the best part of all was when you agreed to be my spouse." This spot was at the Draper temple where he asked me to marry him. The creep is referring to his dad and sister who were hiding out taking pictures of the whole thing. Clue number 3 said, "The next stop on your journey is this, October 5th 2010 where you said Forever I'm His." :) This spot was at the Salt Lake Temple, where we got married. It was hiding on the steps where we took our pictures. We had to break a few rules and hop a few fences on the temple grounds to find that little beauty, but it was all worth it! The final clue said, "The surprise you've been searching for is closer than you thought, It's been all the places we have, just find the right spot." It was hiding in the back of his trunk the entire time, he is so clever! This little game made me cry multiple times, and Brad gets great satisfaction when I cry from his surprises, that's his goal with all his big gifts. :) It was a perfect Valentines Day and I'm so glad that I was able to spend it with the person who knows me best and treats me like a princess every single day. Thanks Brad, it was amazing...just like you!

3 months is all it took
It happened. Everyone said it would happen and it would happen fast. I chose not to believe them but deep down I knew it was true, I just didn't think it would happen this fast...What on earth am I talking about??
We now officially both have callings in our new ward. Brad is the 2nd counselor in the Elders Quorum and I am the primary teacher for the 5 year olds. I'm actually really excited about my calling! Who doesn't want to teach tiny humans all day?? The only thing that would make it better is if Brad were teaching with me, but he is obviously needed elsewhere. We didn't really think I would get a calling because I have to work a lot of Sundays, but maybe this new calling means I won't have to work Sundays anymore! That would rock.

BL
This last weekend we were lucky enough to go to Bear Lake with the Fortuna side of the family. It was so fun to get away for the weekend and relax and spend time together. It was absolutely FREEZING but we all had fun. We went fishing, played games, had a snowball fight (I dominated) and as always at Bear Lake ate way too much! :)
Out on the lake.
Brad is much more of a "natural fisherman" than I am. I think this picture speaks for itself.
They were just little fishies that we caught, but it was still fun.
Bambi walked right up to our condo

Terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day
The other day I had a horrible day at work. The worst day I've probably ever had. I was waiting for some really big news and it didn't go the way I planned. But my cute Brad is such a sweetheart and this is what I saw when I walked into our house. He really is the best.
I dont want to erase it from the mirror

Waterfall
A few weeks ago Bradley and I walked into our house and saw this in our back bedroom
Our roof was not just leaking, it really was a full on waterfall in our house! One of the pipes upstairs froze outside and they're remodeling the upstairs and I guess when they turn on just the right hose, it leaks gallons of water into our home. So we rented a steam cleaner and Brad sucked out about 5 gallons of water out of our carpet. Literally. And then we rented one of those huge fans and pulled up the carpet and turned on the fan and left if for about 3 days. You'd think we'd be really upset about all of this, but there was just so much water that it was kind of funny. Just kind of. Then about 4 days after we returned the fan...it happened again! So we repeated everything. The fan is currently blowing and we're hoping to start out January waterfall free.
The other day Nikki, my very best friend from elementary school was back in town for 3 days only. I haven't seen her in about 6 years. She moved away in 2nd grade but would come back to Utah each year for a few weeks in the summer and every other Christmas. As we got older and our schedules got busier we saw each other less and less when she came. Eventually we just stopped talking, not by choice, but life just happens that way. We started talking again after I got engaged because I wanted to let her know I was getting married. She couldn't make it out here for our wedding because of school but we continued talking and making plans for December when she did come. She made it out here and we made plans to go to lunch. I was actually kind of nervous because it had been so long since I had seen her or talked to her, I was worried it would be weird, but she was the exact same! It was like we never even stopped talking. It's so amazing to have friends like that. I'm really lucky to have her as a best friend after all these years!
